Going to malls and other public places brings up uncertainty in the new normal. The stress that comes in having to think of the risk in going to this kind of places is not worth it unless it has something to do in buying important stuff or necessities. But you don’t have to feel trapped. Drives are a perfect safe alternative for a quick getaway that you are looking for, and Rizal is the perfect place to do so.
Here are a few destinations to get your quick unwind experience:
- SunFlora Farm
As the Beatles’ song goes, “Here comes the sun do, do, do”. There’s something with a full-bloomed sunflower that just lifts up your mood. Maybe it’s the timed beauty of these flowers that makes you feel lucky to be able to see a full-bloomed one.
Try to visit them during summer to be able to witness their beauties at their peak.
Location: Sunflora Farm, Barangay Punta, Jala Jala, Tanay, Rizal
You can get in touch with them through their website https://sunflorafarm.com/
Or their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/SunFloraFarm/
- Regina Rica
A 14-hectare pilgrimage site where you can have a nice relaxing walk to the top of the mountain. At the mountain’s peak, you can find peace and enlightenment as you see the statue of Our Lady of Holy Rosary. You’d also be able to offer candles and prayers to this grand statue. This is the perfect drive when you’re looking for tranquillity.
Location: Regina Rosarii Institute for Contemplation in Asia, Marikina-Infanta Hwy, Tanay, Rizal

- Sapinit Road
Missing Baguio? Who knew Baguio would be only an hour away? Tanay’s very own Little Baguio. Get nostalgic with the smell of fresh pine trees and cold winds.
Sapinit Road is known as The Little Baguio of Rizal in Antipolo. The zigzag path surrounded by pine trees really gives off that Baguio vibe. What’s more, there is no entrance fee to this road. So, you can go ahead and drive here and park at the side of the road while you try to take your best instagrammable photo. Just don’t forget to clean up afterwards!
Location: Sitio Sapinit, Brgy. San Juan, Antipolo City, Rizal
- Treasure Mountain
If you’re looking to be more adventurous after a long drive, feeling spontaneous while on your way to Tanay, or simply want something more physical, then this is the perfect spot for you. You can experience many different things in Treasure Mountain including their High Ropes Obstacle Course, overnight camp, and if you’re lucky, a sea of clouds.
If you’re looking to visit them, it would be best to contact them beforehand.
